Evening Devotion — July 1, 2025
Title: Closing the Day in Peace of God

Bible Verse:
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” — Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)

As sundown falls over this first day of July, let us quiet our hearts and ponder the goodness of God. No matter your day was productive or worrisome, disappointing or gratifying, God bids you to bring it to a close in His peace.

Isaiah 26:3 assures us that if our minds stay fixed on God and we lean on Him, He gives us perfect peace. Not partial peace. Not fleeting peace. Perfect peace, peace in the midst of chaos, rest in the shadow of what is not known.

Occasionally the night is filled with worry: tomorrow in your thoughts, today regretting itself, or worries from months past.

But tonight, let it all go into God’s hands. His are big enough to carry your cares. He neither sleeps nor slumbers (Psalm 121:4), so you don’t have to stay awake and worry. He’s already doing what you’re worried about.

As you start this new month, commit to making your evenings sacred moments of rest and prayer. End each evening in gratitude. Trust that even when you don’t have it all figured out, God does—and that He’s working miracles in the shadows.

New Month Wishes:

Happy July!
May your nights be peaceful and your dawns be kind. May this month be blessed with answers to your prayers, strength to your spirit, and rest for your soul. Rest tonight in the assurance that God is guiding the way into this new season.

Reflection:

  • What weighs heavy on your heart tonight that you need to lay at the foot of the cross?
  • Did you make space for God today? If so, begin again.
  • What are you grateful for today, even though it was hard?
  • How can you create more evening peace this month?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank You for getting me through today. As I put my head on the pillow tonight, I choose to sleep in Your peace. I commit every concern, every unanswerable question, and every load into Your hands. Thank You for this upcoming July month—may it be filled with Your presence, protection, and purpose. May I sleep quietly, wake up in joy, and have more faith in You each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Good Evening & Happy New Month!
Rest in God’s love—He’s already in tomorrow.
