In a suburb of Cincinnati, young mother Amanda Foster has lived through something that not only fortified her faith but has inspired thousands of people around the globe.

Having prayed to God over her unborn son for months, Amanda is sure that God did answer her prayers in a spectacular and unambiguous way.

Since she was pregnant, Amanda had the habit of praying over her baby boy, Kyler. She’d put her hand on her belly prior to each ultrasound appointment and pray protection and blessings upon her child. Her prayer was brief but sincere: “Lord, keep Your hand on my baby.”

And then came a turning point

Amanda took her infant daughter to a recent ultrasound. As they watched, her daughter pointed and cried, having seen something unusual—a hand seeming to hold the baby’s head gently.

Amanda stood in shock and tears and then posted the ultrasound picture online with the following statement:

“I have prayed over and over again for the Lord to place His hand on my baby… and there it was.”

The picture soon became viral, so much so that it touched many to the core as they believed that it was not coincidence, but a divine reminder that God hears and answers prayer.

The Power of a Personal Relationship with God

Amanda’s testimony is a testament to the life-altering power of an individual relationship with God. Amid a world of fear and uncertainty, and particularly in pregnancy, Amanda cried out to the One she knew could give actual peace and protection.

The Bible tells in Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV):

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Amanda prayed once; she prayed continuously and intimately. Her prayers were not rituals; they were a normal part of a living relationship with a hearing God.

Faith Makes the Impossible Possible

Faith isn’t seeing first and believing. It’s believing before the evidence appears. Amanda chose to believe God’s hand on her child, even when she couldn’t see it. And then—the miracle—she did.

Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV) reminds us:

“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

As you move by faith, you begin noticing sparks of God’s presence in the ordinary. You begin to realize that God is not too small or too big to do anything.

God is Working Today

Others may call Amanda’s experience a coincidence or devil of a light. To believers, however, it is evidence that God is working today among His people.

In Isaiah 41:10 (NIV), God reminds us:

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

This very same image Amanda saw on her ultrasound—a hand grasping her baby—is a tangible symbol of this promise. God is not distant and uncaring. He is active, He is loving, and His hand is upon those who trust in Him.

Final Thoughts

Amanda testimony is such a sweet illustration of what happens when we trust God with our fears and consecrate to Him every aspect of our lives—especially the unknown.

Her testimony encourages us to pray boldly, believe, and live a close walk with God, knowing He’s always with us—even in the womb.

No matter what you’re facing, here’s the thing: God is listening. He’s hearing your prayers. And His hand still moves.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Jeremiah James

PRAY THIS: "Lord Jesus, i repent of my sins and surrender my life. Wash me clean. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. That he died on the cross for my sins and rose again on the third day for my Victory, I believe that in my heart and make confession with my mouth, that Jesus is my Savior and Lord. I receive eternal life, in Jesus name, Amen."
