Applications for the prestigious KTH Scholarship 2024 are now open at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology for tuition fee waiver to international students enrolling in one- or two-year master’s programs at the university.

Overview of Scholarship
KTH announced that 7% of the applicants who were admitted to master’s programs in 2024 were nominated for the scholarship. Out of 696 applicants, 47 brilliant ones were chosen, and this really reflects the aim of the scholarship-to reward students not only with excellent academic credentials but also with an interest in addressing sustainability challenges across the globe.

Note: The scholarship is only awarded to students who:
- Apply for a KTH master’s program as the first choice.

Scholarship Benefits
The KTH Scholarship covers:
- Tuition fees for two years of the two-year master’s program conditional on maintaining satisfactory academic performance in the first year.
Exclusions:
- Living allowance is not included, and students are expected to bear their living costs in Sweden.
Application Procedure for KTH Scholarship
To secure your application, follow the steps below:
1. Choose Your Program
Browse all 62 master’s programs at KTH and make a selection based on your interests. Information on courses, career prospects, and themes of sustainability, along with student and alumni insights, can be found on the program pages.
2. Admission Requirements
Make sure you meet the general and programme-specific requirements stated on the programme pages. Admission is competitive, which means meeting these criteria does not guarantee admission.
3. Application period open January 15th
Submit your application via University Admissions, Sweden’s national application portal. Select up to four programmes by priority order.
4. Documentation Deadline February 3rd
Upload all necessary documents to your University Admissions account promptly. This includes proof of citizenship if exempt from the application fee.
5. Pay the Application Fee (if required)
Applicants outside the EU, EEA, or Switzerland must pay a fee of SEK 900 by February 3rd.
6. Check Admission Results
The selection results will be announced on 27 March via your University Admissions account. Students who are offered admission will receive information about the next steps including preparations for life in Stockholm.
KTH Scholarship Eligibility
The applicant must:
- Apply for a KTH master’s program as the first priority.
- Pay the application fee for university admission, if required.
Note: that some joint programmes, like Erasmus+, EIT Digital, and EIT InnoEnergy, are not included. Students applying for these programmes can instead receive the KTH Joint Programme Scholarship.
