Eligibility Criteria

All applicants for SBW Berlin Scholarships must demonstrate the following in order to be found eligible:

Citizens of developing country or regions requiring assistance
Age: Between 18 and 30 years
Academic Performance: At least a grade equivalent to 2.0 German grade point
Financial Need: Evidence of low household income

Residency:

Homeless foreigners or stateless persons and recognized refugees
Long-term resident permit EU

Exceptions

Following persons cannot apply:

First-degree relatives in Germany
Students who are already being financed for studies in Germany

Academic transcript with grades
Two recommendation letters
Motivation letter max. 2 pages

Scholarship Conditions and Termination

The scholarship holders are obliged to demonstrate adequate academic achievement as well as the non-profit project’s goals. The scholarship can only be revoked due to:

Any candidate failing to pass or postponing three exams
Non-attainment of targets concerning the non-profit project
After graduation, students need to report to SBW Berlin and provide copies of their academic records and certificates
