Nigerian Air Force Wipes Out Terrorist Hideout, 20 Killed in Katsina

In a devastating victory against terrorism, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), through Operation Fansan Yamma, successfully k1lled over 20 terrorists in a forceful air strike against notorious bandits’ hideouts in Unguwar Goga Hill-Forest, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

In a release issued by Group Captain Kabiru Ali, the Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, the strikes were executed in the early hours of Thursday following credible and strategic intelligence.

The precision attack aimed at the heavily fortified camps of two notorious bandit chiefs—Gero (Alhaji) and Alhaji Riga—and shattered their criminal gangs and strongholds. Other casualties were also suffered in nearby rocky hills as the attack swept across the area with military precision.

“These air raids were a heavy blow,” Ali said, adding that Riga and Gero had been major players in funding terrorism and sheltering criminal gangs behind some attacks and ambushes on the Funtua-Gusau Road, especially between Yankara and Sheme villages.”.

The Nigerian Air Force saw their destruction as a major achievement in the efforts to bring peace and stability back to the North-West region. The NAF also confirmed that the assessment of the damage level brought about by the operation continues to be on progress.

The latest offensive shows the determination of the Nigerian military to bring an end to terrorism and to ensure that the people in the region are able to live peacefully without fear of attacks.

“The NAF, in collaboration with ground troops, remains relentless in its campaign to annihilate all terrorist enclaves and protect the lives of innocent Nigerians,” Ali stated.
