Community Management Consultant – English
As a Community Manager, you will collaborate closely with the project management team, client representatives, and a broader network of social media and community professionals to support both client objectives and internal initiatives.
The client is a subscription-based video streaming platform specializing primarily in East Asian entertainment, including anime and manga.
We are looking for an experienced social media and community professional with demonstrated expertise in translating, transcreating, and localizing content for digital communities.
You will contribute to both strategic planning and the day-to-day execution of social and community initiatives.
As a Community Manager at ModSquad, you will play an important role in building, strengthening, and engaging digital communities on behalf of clients.
You will also contribute to the continued development of ModSquad’s digital team by helping improve social media strategies, community engagement practices, and operational processes.
What You’ll Do
Your responsibilities may vary depending on campaigns and client priorities, but key duties will include:
- Collaborate closely with clients and internal teams through regular, often daily, communication.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic and operational objectives.
- Develop and execute weekly and quarterly content calendars and strategic plans.
- Generate creative ideas, campaigns, activities, and content designed to engage and grow online communities.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators and prepare reports highlighting results, trends, insights, and growth opportunities.
- Engage with customers and community members across forums, websites, social media channels, and third-party community platforms.
- Explore new platforms, technologies, and tools that can improve workflows and support client objectives.
- Develop and refine best practices across social media management, community engagement, content moderation, social ROI, and digital customer experiences.
- Respond appropriately to occasional community issues, crises, and escalations.
- Translate, transcreate, and localize content for social media and community channels.
- Support the planning and execution of broader social media and community strategies.

- Professional experience managing online communities for companies, organizations, or brands, whether as a Junior Community Manager, Community Manager, or Lead Community Manager.
- Hands-on experience using platforms such as Discord, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and online forums.
- Familiarity with platforms such as TikTok, Snapchat, Twitch, and YouTube is an advantage.
- Strong copywriting skills with the ability to balance professional brand communication with engaging, culturally relevant, and entertaining community content.
- Professional experience translating and localizing content into your native language.
- A strong interest in and understanding of anime and manga.
- Strong knowledge of UK culture and the UK marketing landscape, ideally supported by personal or professional experience living or working within the relevant market.
- Genuine enthusiasm for anime and its wider online community.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional qualifications and experience that would strengthen your application include:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- At least four years of experience in social media or community management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to collaborate across different disciplines, clearly communicate key information, and present ideas effectively.
- Strong knowledge of social media strategy and online community management.
- Professional experience in translation, transcreation, and content localization.
- Strong familiarity with anime, manga, and their respective online communities.
- A solid understanding of UK culture, audiences, and current marketing trends.
