Beyond traditional accounting responsibilities, the Finance Manager will contribute to strategic initiatives involving financial planning, unit economics, margin analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and business performance.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems independently, improving processes, and working in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly financial close, including journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, general ledger accuracy, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Oversee revenue recognition and customer contract accounting in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Supervise billing operations, ensuring invoices are accurate, timely, and consistent with contractual agreements.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Merchant Operations to resolve billing discrepancies and support accounts receivable and collections.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, supporting schedules, and variance analyses.
  • Support board, investor, and lender reporting, coordinate external audits and tax engagements, and maintain effective internal controls.
  • Own and maintain the company’s financial model, lead forecasting activities, and contribute to budgeting, unit economics, margin analysis, and M&A due diligence.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive finance processes, including reconciliations, billing, expense management, and financial reporting.
  • Use AI tools to improve financial analysis, streamline workflows, and generate actionable business insights while maintaining accuracy, security, and appropriate human oversight.
  • Partner with the VP of Finance and cross-functional teams to strengthen financial operations and support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of progressive accounting or finance experience, ideally combining public accounting with hands-on experience at a high-growth company.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. CPA certification is preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, accrual accounting, revenue recognition, and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience independently managing month-end close, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to build or maintain financial models and forecasts.
  • Experience with SaaS accounting, subscription billing, or recurring revenue models is highly desirable.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Practical experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude to analyze data, improve productivity, or automate workflows.
  • Ability to identify manual processes and develop scalable, technology-enabled solutions.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Bill.com, and modern accounting systems is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • A proactive, ownership-driven mindset and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a lean, fast-moving environment.
