Position Summary
Deel is seeking an experienced Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) to manage complex Canadian immigration matters for its clients.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive immigration case management while contributing to process improvements, regulatory compliance, and internal knowledge development across Canadian federal and provincial immigration programs.
As an RCIC, you will also represent the business and its clients in matters involving Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), and provincial immigration authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex, sensitive, and escalated Canadian immigration cases with a strong emphasis on accuracy, quality, and timely delivery.
- Serve as a key resource for immigration case preparation, documentation, drafting, and client support.
- Develop immigration strategies and oversee cases from initial assessment through preparation and submission.
- Manage applications involving open and employer-specific Work Permits.
- Prepare and manage Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs).
- Handle Global Talent Stream (GTS) and Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) cases.
- Support Permanent Residency applications, including Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).
- Manage compliance activities involving the IRCC Employer Portal and ESDC Portal.
- Oversee wage tracking, employer attestations, regulatory correspondence, and audit preparation.
- Maintain and reconcile the organization’s CICC-regulated Client Trust Account each month.
- Handle trust ledger records, account reconciliations, fee invoicing, and reporting in accordance with applicable CICC requirements.
- Advise talent acquisition teams, HR professionals, and corporate clients on immigration strategies and global mobility matters.
- Provide guidance regarding immigration eligibility, processing timelines, costs, and program requirements.
- Help clients incorporate immigration considerations into broader workforce and talent-planning decisions.
- Develop and maintain internal immigration resources, including templates, checklists, standard operating procedures, and FAQs.
- Ensure internal materials remain aligned with current federal and provincial immigration rules and procedures.
- Provide immigration subject-matter expertise for the development of AI-supported workflows and internal technology.
- Identify inefficient processes and help transform regulatory requirements into scalable and repeatable workflows.
- Review immigration work for accuracy and identify potential procedural, regulatory, and case-related risks.
- Maintain high standards of professional judgment, confidentiality, compliance, and operational discipline.
- Follow all obligations established under the CICC Code of Professional Conduct, including confidentiality, conflict-of-interest requirements, and accurate representation of client matters.
- Monitor immigration policy and regulatory developments involving IRCC, ESDC, and provincial authorities.
- Translate regulatory changes into practical guidance that can be used by clients and internal teams.
Qualifications
Candidates should have:
- 6–8 years of professional experience in Canadian immigration.
- An active Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) credential in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC).
- Extensive experience handling Canadian work permits, employer compliance matters, and permanent residency applications.
- Strong knowledge of IRCC and ESDC immigration programs and procedures.
- Practical experience with Work Permits, LMIAs, Global Talent Stream, Intra-Company Transfers, Express Entry, and Provincial Nominee Programs.
- Strong understanding of the IRCC Employer Portal and ESDC Portal.
- Knowledge of employer immigration compliance requirements and Client Trust Account reconciliation procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex matters under tight deadlines.
- Experience mentoring or supporting other professionals within a team environment.
- Ability to interpret immigration legislation, policies, regulatory requirements, and procedural changes.
- Experience clearly communicating regulatory information to both internal teams and external clients.
- Experience using AI tools or technology-enabled workflows within immigration, legal, compliance, or another regulated professional environment.
- Strong attention to detail, professional judgment, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and regulatory standards.
