Compensation and Benefits

Marqeta uses a location-based compensation model to reflect differences in the cost of living across the United States. Its compensation structure includes three geographic categories:

  • National: The standard compensation level for most US locations.
  • Premium: A higher range for selected higher-cost locations, such as Los Angeles and Seattle.
  • Premium Plus: The highest tier, covering particularly expensive markets such as the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City.

The annual on-target earnings (OTE) package combines a fixed salary with performance-based variable compensation. The advertised structure is 70% base salary and 30% variable compensation.
