Trivane News is seeking a confident, credible and engaging News Presenter & Video Journalist to become the official on-screen face and voice of the digital news platform.

Trivane News is an independent, digital-first newsroom covering major developments across Africa, UK affairs, the African diaspora and international news.

Its editorial approach focuses on accuracy, impartiality and responsible reporting, presenting important stories in a clear and accessible way.

The position is fully remote and applications are open to suitably qualified candidates in Nigeria as well as applicants based internationally.

Successful candidates should have access to a reliable video-recording device capable of producing clear, professional-quality video and audio.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position operating five days per week.

The presenter will generally be expected to deliver approximately 2–4 approved news stories per working day, although the workload may vary depending on the news cycle and production requirements.

News stories and scripts will be prepared or approved through Trivane News’ editorial process before they are recorded or published.

Salary and Performance Review

The position offers a monthly salary of ₦140,000.

The successful candidate’s performance will be reviewed after an initial three-month period.

Key Responsibilities

The News Presenter & Video Journalist will present news bulletins, breaking-news updates and explanatory reports in a clear, natural and professional manner.

The role involves delivering approved scripts confidently while making complex or developing stories easy for audiences to understand.

The presenter will also record voiceovers, presenter-led segments and short-form news videos for publication across approved digital platforms.

Coverage may include major stories relating to Africa, UK affairs, the diaspora, global developments, politics, business, health, entertainment and sports.

Candidates should also be comfortable presenting and discussing significant football and other relevant sporting stories.

The successful candidate may be required to perform basic video editing and will work closely with the editorial and media teams to ensure published content meets the organization’s standards for accuracy, impartiality and professionalism.

The presenter will also be expected to meet production deadlines and professionally represent the Trivane News brand across its digital channels.

Requirements

Applicants should have excellent spoken English, clear pronunciation and a confident, natural presence on camera.

Candidates should possess a good understanding of current affairs, particularly developments affecting Africa, the United Kingdom and the African diaspora.

A basic understanding of journalism principles, including fact-checking, verification, accuracy and impartial reporting, is also important.

Applicants should have basic practical knowledge of video production and editing tools such as CapCut, VN, Canva or similar applications.

Because the position is remote, candidates must have reliable internet access and access to a quiet, clean and professional environment suitable for recording news content.

Applicants should also be able to collaborate effectively with an editorial team, follow editorial instructions and consistently meet deadlines.

Previous experience in journalism, broadcasting, digital media, presenting or content creation will be an advantage.

However, exceptional candidates without formal media experience may also apply if they can demonstrate excellent communication skills, confidence on camera and basic video-production ability.
