You will bring strong design expertise, independent thinking, and effective communication to help the team deliver exceptional products.

What You’ll Do

  • Work alongside Product and Engineering teams to identify challenges, establish priorities, shape product roadmaps, and develop solutions that support both user expectations and business objectives.
  • Transform complicated processes such as verification requests, document submissions, consent and authorization, appointment scheduling, progress tracking, and exception management into straightforward user experiences.
  • Leverage AI-powered design and development tools to build prototypes, test concepts, and implement simple interface improvements in code when appropriate, accelerating the design process and improving product quality.
  • Create transparent and trustworthy experiences for sensitive and regulated services, emphasizing accessibility, error prevention, clear communication, and user confidence.
  • Apply findings from user research, stakeholder discussions, and product analytics to develop, test, and continuously improve design solutions.
  • Deliver high-quality interaction and visual designs across responsive websites and relevant product platforms, providing engineering teams with detailed specifications and design assets.
  • Lead workshops, design presentations, and review sessions to encourage collaboration, establish alignment, and help teams make informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Sales, Compliance, Legal, Data, and Operations teams to ensure product experiences address practical business and customer requirements.
  • Help strengthen Checkr’s design systems and standards, promoting consistency, efficiency, and quality throughout its products.

What You’ll Bring

  • At least 5–8 years of professional product design experience, or equivalent expertise, with a proven ability to deliver successful digital products.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your complete design process, including problem identification, concept development, design decisions, teamwork, refinement, and measurable results.
  • The ability to work through complex product challenges, identify important details, and translate complicated requirements into simple and effective user experiences.
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to balance customer needs, business priorities, technical limitations, and project timelines.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing product decisions through effective communication, collaboration, and clear reasoning.
  • The ability to independently organize and conduct user research, including interviews, usability evaluations, and concept testing, while collaborating with research specialists when necessary.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly in interaction design, content presentation, information organization, and accessibility standards.
  • A proactive, results-driven mindset with a strong sense of ownership, adaptability, and the ability to work efficiently in fast-moving environments while navigating uncertainty.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in background screening, human resources technology, healthcare, identity verification, compliance-focused industries, or other regulated environments.
  • Experience designing B2B or B2B2C products, particularly platforms involving operational workflows and external business partners.
  • Familiarity with design systems, product documentation, and reusable component development.
  • Experience creating secure digital products involving sensitive information, user consent, and privacy-focused design principles.
