Product Operations Manager
Scan.com is building a nationwide medical imaging network across the United States, connecting patients, healthcare providers, and payers with faster, more affordable access to diagnostic imaging.
Thousands of patients use the platform every day, and behind every appointment is someone waiting for important answers about their health.
Scan.com’s mission is to shorten that wait and make the diagnostic imaging process simpler and more efficient.
Rather than acting only as an intermediary, Scan.com manages the imaging journey from beginning to end. Healthcare providers can submit imaging orders through a single point of access, while the platform coordinates the wider diagnostic pathway.
This integrated approach helps deliver imaging more quickly, maintain high standards of quality, and reduce costs compared with traditional fragmented systems.
Scan.com is now hiring a Product Operations Manager during a significant period of expansion. The company has raised more than $200 million in funding, achieved profitability, and is experiencing approximately 100% year-over-year growth.
About the Role
Product Operations connects product strategy with effective execution. The function helps transform product plans into repeatable processes while ensuring that every launch generates useful insights for future improvements.
As Product Operations Manager, you will work closely with Product Managers and collaborate across Engineering, Design, Operations, Data, Legal, and Clinical teams.
Your responsibility will be to develop the processes, documentation, reporting systems, and operating routines that enable the product organization to work efficiently and consistently.
Success in this position is not simply about what you personally deliver. It is about creating systems that allow the wider product team to execute better, communicate more clearly, and learn more effectively from every release.
The position is particularly suited to someone who enjoys operational excellence, can coordinate several workstreams simultaneously, produces excellent documentation, and already incorporates AI tools into everyday workflows.
As the company continues to scale, the responsibilities of the position are expected to evolve.
Key Responsibilities
You will coordinate rollout strategies for new product features, partnering with Product Managers, Engineering, Design, and Operations to manage launch sequences, dependencies, readiness, and implementation.
You will create and maintain high-quality product documentation for both internal and external audiences. This may include internal feature briefs, enablement materials, partner and provider release notes, process documentation, and product reference resources.
Working alongside the Data team, you will monitor post-launch performance and analytics to determine whether newly released features are achieving their intended outcomes.
You will help identify when products may require further iteration, increased promotion, or reconsideration.
You will manage cross-functional approvals before product launches, ensuring relevant stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, Legal, Clinical, and other functions have reviewed important releases. Decisions, outstanding issues, and approvals should be clearly documented.
Another major responsibility will be developing and maintaining a structured product knowledge base designed to support both employees and AI agents.
This includes creating information architecture that enables reliable retrieval, preparing documentation that remains useful when divided and reassembled by AI systems, and continuously improving the knowledge base based on downstream AI performance.
You will also support product OKR planning and monitoring by helping convert strategy into measurable objectives, tracking progress, identifying when priorities may need adjustment, and communicating product impact throughout the organization.
What Success Could Look Like in Your First Year
More Predictable Product Releases
Within your first few months, product releases should follow a clearer and more repeatable process.
Approvals should occur at appropriate stages, stakeholders should know what is being released, and launches should become increasingly coordinated rather than improvised.
An AI-Ready Knowledge Base
You will establish documentation that employees and AI systems can rely upon. Teams should increasingly consult the knowledge base before seeking information elsewhere, and the content should support at least one meaningful AI-assisted workflow that reduces manual work within the product organization.
Stronger Connection Between Releases and Results
Working with the Data team, you will help establish consistent post-release analysis for significant product launches.
This will allow Product teams to learn from actual outcomes before simply moving on to their next initiative.
Useful OKR Reporting
Teams throughout the organization should have better visibility into what Product is working on, why those priorities matter, and how initiatives are progressing.
Reporting should support meaningful conversations about priorities and resource allocation.
Become a Trusted Product Operations Partner
Product Managers should be able to depend on you to keep important processes moving, while stakeholders across other departments should trust the systems you establish for launches, approvals, documentation, and communication.
What You May Bring to the Role
Candidates do not need to meet every requirement. Scan.com welcomes people at different stages of their careers who demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn and contribute.
Relevant experience may include product operations, program management, project delivery, or another operational position within a technology company.
Experience helping a rapidly growing organization transition from informal processes toward more structured operations would be particularly useful.
Excellent written communication is important because documentation forms a significant part of the position. You should be capable of producing materials that are clear, accurate, comprehensive, and genuinely useful to others.
You should also be comfortable working with product and delivery metrics. This includes collaborating with Data teams to define success criteria, interpreting results objectively, and communicating findings clearly without exaggerating or minimizing outcomes.
Strong organizational and coordination skills are essential. You should naturally notice missing approvals, delayed dependencies, communication gaps, and other issues that could affect a successful launch—and take appropriate action without requiring constant direction.
Because Product Operations relies heavily on influence rather than formal authority, you should be comfortable collaborating with Product, Engineering, Design, Operations, Clinical, and other stakeholders while maintaining productive working relationships.
AI Experience
AI is a fundamental part of how Scan.com operates, rather than an occasional productivity tool.
For this position, candidates are expected to demonstrate strong practical AI fluency. You should already be using AI tools regularly to improve workflows, automate repetitive activities, increase productivity, or build operational solutions.
The company is particularly interested in candidates who have practical experience using LLMs, AI agents, or related AI technologies to build, automate, or prototype real workflows.
You should be able to describe specific processes where AI was used to automate a substantial portion of repetitive work while maintaining appropriate human oversight.
You should also understand when AI-powered or agentic systems are appropriate and when human involvement remains necessary—particularly when working in regulated environments or around protected health information.
AI proficiency will be evaluated through a practical exercise involving AI tools during the recruitment process.
Previous experience in healthcare technology, diagnostic imaging, or another regulated industry would be advantageous, although strong operational experience from other fast-moving industries is also valued.
Culture
Scan.com is focused on solving an important healthcare challenge: reducing the amount of time people wait for diagnostic answers.
The company operates in a fast-moving environment where employees are expected to take ownership, maintain high standards, communicate openly, and focus on meaningful outcomes.
The culture emphasizes action, collaboration, curiosity, continuous improvement, and direct but constructive communication.
Always Play Offense
Employees are encouraged to act quickly while maintaining high-quality execution. Difficult problems should be approached persistently, opportunities should be actively pursued, and team members are expected to take responsibility when they identify something that needs improvement.
Build With the Best
Scan.com believes the quality of the organization depends heavily on the quality of its team. Employees are encouraged to share knowledge freely, trust colleagues to deliver, and help attract talented people to the company.
Care Deeply, Challenge Directly
Constructive disagreement is encouraged. Employees should communicate directly with one another, support their opinions with evidence, remain receptive to feedback, and propose solutions when challenging existing approaches.
Embrace Growth and Curiosity
Continuous learning is an important part of the culture. Employees are expected to seek feedback, deepen their understanding of the company and its customers, develop their skills, and remain willing to reconsider previous assumptions when new information becomes available.
The company aims to maintain a high-performing environment without unnecessary ego, giving employees meaningful responsibility and opportunities to make a visible impact.
Interview Process
The recruitment process is designed to move relatively quickly and may vary depending on interviewer availability.
The first stage is typically a 30-minute introductory telephone conversation with a Senior Talent Partner.
Candidates who progress will normally attend an approximately 45-minute video interview with the hiring manager, focusing more deeply on the position and its technical and operational requirements.
The next stage is the “Scan Standard” interview, where a panel explores alignment with the company’s values and the success factors relevant to the position. AI fluency will also be assessed at the level expected for the role.
Candidates may then meet the founders and/or additional members of the team before a final hiring decision and potential offer.
Compensation and Benefits
Employees can also receive:
- Flexible remote or hybrid working arrangements
- Dedicated professional development budget
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
- More than 28 days of combined paid time off and wellbeing days
- Paid parental leave
- 401(k) retirement plan
- Equipment required to perform the role effectively
- Inclusive workplace policies designed to support employees
scan.com is looking for someone who can bring structure to a rapidly growing product organization, improve how teams launch and learn from products, and use AI as a practical tool for building more efficient operations.
