Job Summary
Apothecary is seeking an experienced and highly organized Salon Manager based in Lagos to oversee the new location and ensure smooth operations across different shifts.
The position requires eight working hours per day, five days a week. Some Sunday shifts will be required, with Sunday working hours running from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
The Salon Manager will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the salon and evaluating operational results.
- Managing salon employees, staff schedules and overall team performance.
- Coordinating the salon booking process and maintaining a high level of client satisfaction.
- Ensuring all services are delivered consistently in accordance with Kinky Apothecary’s standards and standard operating procedures.
- Monitoring key salon performance indicators, including revenue, bookings, client rebooking, retail sales and other relevant KPIs.
- Managing inventory, salon supplies, equipment and the general maintenance of the facility.
- Handling customer complaints professionally and resolving service-related issues promptly.
- Supporting the development and implementation of improved operational structures and processes.
- Assisting with the execution of Kinky Apothecary’s sales and marketing strategies.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with senior management, suppliers, colleagues and partner organisations.
- Identifying operational challenges, developing practical solutions and communicating important salon activities to the Founder and senior management.
The primary objective of this position is to ensure the salon operates efficiently while maintaining excellent service standards, effective staff management and a positive customer experience.
Requirements
Candidates should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
- Previous experience managing a salon or retail team. References from previous roles may be verified.
- Previous salon and/or retail experience is essential. Relevant experience in beauty, hospitality, customer service or service-operations management may also be considered.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers, junior employees and senior management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify challenges and propose practical solutions.
- Strong teamwork skills and a genuine commitment to contributing to the growth of the business.
- High levels of professionalism, ambition and work ethic.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and make sound decisions without requiring constant supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational, people-management and time-management abilities.

This is a management position and not a hairstylist role. Hands-on hairstyling or beauty-service experience is therefore not required.
The position involves standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting light retail inventory, including hair-care products. Regular breaks and a one-hour lunch break are provided.
