Social Media & Content Assistant
We are seeking a proactive, creative, and organized Social Media & Content Assistant to support a growing business specializing in financial planning, investment management, wealth management, and retirement planning.
The primary focus of this role is managing the day-to-day social media content workflow across YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
You will help transform long-form video content into engaging short-form videos, prepare and optimize social posts, leverage AI tools to improve content quality, and streamline the overall publishing process.
The business owner will continue to handle filming and provide final approval for scripts and content.
Once the original content is ready, you will take responsibility for editing, repurposing, optimizing, scheduling, and publishing it across the appropriate platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the management and growth of the company’s YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram channels.
- Repurpose long-form YouTube videos into engaging short-form videos, reels, and social media clips.
- Use tools such as Opus Clip or similar platforms to identify strong moments from longer videos and transform them into short-form content.
- Perform basic video editing, formatting, and content preparation using Camtasia or comparable video-editing software.
- Create, edit, and refine social media captions and supporting copy.
- Use ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI tools to improve scripts, captions, video titles, descriptions, and other content.
- Research suitable posting times, audience trends, and content strategies to improve reach and engagement.
- Schedule and publish approved content across relevant social media platforms.
- Develop an organized and repeatable workflow for content creation, repurposing, approval, scheduling, and publishing.
- Recommend and potentially implement social media scheduling or management tools that can make the publishing process more efficient.
- Work closely with the business owner to understand and maintain their preferred voice, style, and communication approach.
- Incorporate feedback into future content while ensuring published material remains consistent with the owner’s personal brand.
- Identify opportunities to make the company’s overall social media strategy and workflow more efficient and effective.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate has previous experience in social media management, content creation, video editing, or digital content management, preferably supporting a business, entrepreneur, professional, or personal brand.
You should have:
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Hands-on experience working with YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.
- Experience creating and managing short-form video content.
- Familiarity with Camtasia or similar video-editing software, or the ability to learn new editing tools quickly.
- Experience with Opus Clip or comparable AI-powered video clipping tools.
- Confidence using ChatGPT, Claude, or other AI tools to improve content creation and productivity.
- Knowledge of social media publishing, scheduling, captions, titles, descriptions, and content optimization.
- A strong creative sense and an understanding of what makes social content engaging.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to maintain a consistent content workflow.
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to identify and suggest improvements rather than waiting for detailed instructions.
- The ability to work independently while responding effectively to direction and feedback.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience managing YouTube or social media content for a business, professional, financial services company, or personal brand would be a strong advantage.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have managed an end-to-end content workflow such as:
Long-form video → Short-form clips → Editing → Captions & optimization → Scheduling → Publishing
Experience with additional social media management, analytics, automation, or content scheduling platforms would also be beneficial.
