The client is a rapidly growing digital education company that develops live and on-demand learning content.

As its library of evergreen educational resources continues to expand and preparations begin for international content localization, the company is looking for an experienced Video Editor to help manage increasing production demands.

The position combines traditional video editing with emerging AI-powered technologies, making it suitable for an editor who is comfortable working with established editing software while learning new AI-assisted production workflows.

About the Role

As an Educational Video Editor, you will turn live educational recordings into professional, engaging on-demand content.

You will also contribute to an upcoming international localization initiative designed to make educational materials accessible to audiences in different markets.

Working alongside an established editing team, you’ll refine long-form recordings, remove unnecessary live-event elements, produce short-form content, organize media assets, and prepare videos for distribution across various platforms.

The ideal candidate has excellent editorial instincts, strong technical editing abilities, and the confidence to make independent editing decisions while maintaining the meaning and educational flow of the original content.

Key Responsibilities

Educational Video Production

  • Convert live educational recordings into polished evergreen videos suitable for on-demand viewing.
  • Remove elements that make recordings feel like live events while preserving an engaging and natural learning experience.
  • Add introductions and other required production elements to completed videos.
  • Maintain professional pacing, continuity, audio-visual consistency, and overall production quality.
  • Complete assigned evergreen video projects within the required 24-hour turnaround period following live sessions.

Editing & Content Review

  • Review complete recordings and identify irrelevant discussions, tangents, or unnecessary sections.
  • Make appropriate editorial cuts without affecting important educational information or context.
  • Follow established brand and editorial guidelines across all video content.
  • Prepare high-quality videos for quality assurance while reducing the need for extensive revisions.

International Localization & AI Dubbing

  • Prepare and edit video footage for international localization projects.
  • Learn and work with AI-powered dubbing and lip-sync technologies such as HeyGen.
  • Combine translated audio with existing video footage to create natural-looking localized content.
  • Help develop efficient workflows that allow educational content to be adapted for audiences in multiple countries and languages.

Short-Form & AI-Assisted Content

  • Use tools such as Opus to transform long-form recordings into short videos suitable for social media.
  • Identify valuable moments within longer educational videos that can work effectively as standalone clips.
  • Use Rev.com or similar services for transcription, subtitles, and captioning.
  • Incorporate AI-assisted tools into the editing process to improve production speed and output.

Video & File Management

  • Organize large quantities of raw footage and completed videos securely through Google Drive.
  • Maintain clear and consistent folder structures so other members of the editing team can easily locate assets.
  • Upload and manage completed evergreen videos through Vimeo.
  • Maintain accurate versions of videos and related production files throughout the editing and approval process.

Collaboration & Production Management

  • Work closely with other video editors to coordinate assets and improve production workflows.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects while staying aligned with broader production priorities.
  • Clearly communicate progress, deadlines, technical challenges, and potential delays.
  • Contribute to processes that allow the company to increase video output without compromising quality.

Requirements

Candidates should have:

  • 1–3 years of professional video editing experience.
  • Experience editing educational videos, digital courses, webinars, live recordings, or similar long-form content.
  • Experience converting raw or live recordings into professional finished content.

Technical & Professional Skills

The successful candidate should:

  • Be proficient with Movavi or comparable professional video editing software.
  • Have excellent editorial judgment and be able to determine what content should be retained, shortened, or removed.
  • Understand pacing, continuity, storytelling, and overall video production quality.

  • Be willing to quickly learn AI dubbing, translation, and lip-syncing technologies such as HeyGen.
  • Have strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Be capable of consistently meeting demanding 24-hour production deadlines.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a distributed editing team.

Knowledge of DeepL and Core Video Editor is considered an additional advantage.

Preferred Experience

Additional consideration may be given to candidates who have:

  • Previous experience with HeyGen or similar AI video translation, dubbing, or lip-syncing technology.
